Forum Dates: 8 day forum held between 5-12 September Forum Objectives: The Youth Forum will be attended by over 240 young advocates including 120 young people from China and Hong Kong, 100 from the UK and 20 from other countries will be 50% male and 50% female; and half the group will have disabilities. Young Advocates will spend 6 days living on campus, participating in a forum designed to promote cultural/disability awareness, discussion/debate and leadership/communication skills between the young people of mainland China, Hong Kong and UK. Number of Participants: • 120 advocates from mainland China/ Hong Kong • 100 advocates from UK • 20 international advocates • 10 carers internationally Total: 250 participants Masterclasses/workshops: Prior to arrival at the forum participants will have the opportunity to select a ‘masterclass’ or workshop session. There will be 5 masterclass options available each containing approximately 48 advocates Options include: • Performance Workshop: Participants will learn dance moves, write songs and develop technique and creative skills. The workshop will culminate with a performance • Digital filming Workshop: Participants will learn techniques about digital/video and sound recording as part of a small location filming team. Participants will edit and add title graphics to their stories. The master-class will culminate with a screening • Leadership/Organisation Workshop: Participants will learn practical leadership/organisation skills and event management skills
